Additional Details

A ledger for a charity hospital exclusively for slave women. The entries tell a sad story, with about 20% of the women having died soon after their admission, a small inked crucifix next to the entry. The name and address of the owner of each woman is given, but little about why the patient was admitted. One person is listed as "mistaken--free," and a few indicate childbirth.
