Additional Details

A satirical warning on the dangers of strong drink. The itinerary shows the gradual progression from Sippington to Rowdyville to Robbers Den to Idiot Flats to Destruction. The lithograph shows the distillery locomotive and its bar car pulling through the station at Drunkard's Curve, filled with paupers and derelicts. The road ahead terminates in an abyss filled with enormous demons. Other versions were produced, including a slightly larger lithograph by Ackermann, but we trace no other examples of this variant in OCLC.
