A life of the Franciscan missionary Antonio Margil, who founded several pioneering missions in Texas from 1716 to 1721, most notably San José y San Miguel de Aguayo Mission in San Antonio. The Texas adventures are here recounted on pages 149-163. He also played an important role in Guatemala.
