Seminal document in the history of the ship, wherein Gibbs is assigned responsibility for the reconditioning of the ship. The contract basically states what is expected of the Gibbs firm and that the work is to be completed within 14 months. Specifications for the reconditioning are contained in another document not present here. The contract is accompanied by two summaries of weekly expenses which were produced in February 1921.
