(VERNACULAR SUMMER)
Album containing 28 artful photographs, by an extremely talented American photographer who creatively recorded four sisters' (or friends') special vacation moments in the South. The pictures depict period bathing costumes, fashionably attired women in long white dresses and picture hats, male and female friends playing with a dog on the beach, the ladies enjoying a buggy ride (which is lead by an African-American child and drawn by an ox), friends eating watermelon, and a series of pictures of the distaff trio "grooming" a man, who's lying in a barber's chair, with a knife, broom and pencil. Matte surface silver prints, 3x4 inches. Small oblong 4to, cloth; ties. Circa 1905
