Illustrator John Reuben Chapin (1823-1904) executed this detailed rendering of Washington's deathbed for use in Benson Lossing's 1870 book "Washington and the American Republic." It was engraved by John Rogers and appeared in Volume III following page 556. with--a detached example of the completed engraving.
