Additional Details

Dorothea Towles (1922-2006) of Texas was a fashion model in Paris from 1949 to 1954, where she was the first African-American in her trade. These two programs are from her appearances in fashion shows shortly after her return to America. Both feature photographs of Towles on the covers. Included are:
