ADOLPHE MOURON CASSANDRE (1901-1968) HUILE DE LA CROIX VERTE. Circa 1925.
167/8x13 inches. Hachard & Cie., Paris.
Condition A-: minor tears at corners. Window card, with string attached at top.
Henri Mouron mentions that there are several variations of this poster, but he doesn't list this one. They all contain the image of the package, with the green cross against a dark background, but bear minor differences in the layout and typography. This variation, a widow card for use in grocery stores, is more emblematic than the full-size poster (which has a glass of wine and a napkin in the image). The four semi-circles, with their rhythmic black and white patterns, at the corners of this window card add vibration to the image. Not in Mouron.
