Condition B+: replaced losses at edges; repaired tears, creases, abrasions and restoration in margins and along vertical and horizontal folds; minor overpainting along folds. Two-sheets.

The Royal Belgian Federation of Fencing Circles (KBFS) was founded in 1896, initiated by fencing enthusiasts Eugène Wetrems (noted at the bottom of this poster) and Léon Fadeux. Wetrems organized the first Belgian Championships in 1898. Chevalier Gaston Hynderick de Theulegoet, also listed here, was president from 1896-1905. The listed Secretary General, Octave Maus, was also deeply involved in the art world of Belgium, having been a member of Les XX, and then founder of La Libre Esthétique. Amédée Lynen was a Belgian painter, illustrator and writer, who contributed to the founding of artistic groups such as L'Essor and Pour l'Art.
