number 49 of only 54 copies. An important book for the Ashendene Press, considered among the best of English private presses, Revelacion represented many "firsts" for the press: it was the first volume to use red ink in the text, to be printed in two columns, to contain the printer's mark B2, to invite subscribers at a price of 2 guineas, to be bound by Leighton, and to be printed in England. Alternately, it was also the last book in the early slender binding series, and the last before a new typeface was introduced. Hornby 12, 42; Tomkinson 4; Franklin pages 31, 235.
