Canadian-born Cooper began working for the London Underground in 1922. He designed 54 posters for them over the span of 22 years, as well as those for various other British railway companies. Like other prominent British poster artists such as Fred Taylor, Charles Shepherd, Leonard Cusden and Tom Purvis, Cooper also designed posters promoting travel in India. Here, he depicts a procession beneath the Amber Fort in Jaipur.
