Army of Bohemia, Manuscript on Paper.
Account of Supplies, Equipment and Food Used by the Army: 1741-1743.

Paris, 1 September 1746.

Large folio format manuscript on laid paper, text in French, consisting of 101 leaves, written in brown ink in a cursive professional secretarial hand throughout with large calligraphic headings; bound in full contemporary green parchment over boards; gilt-lettered labels on spine: "Regie des Vivres 1741, 1742, 1743" [and] "Compte de M Pasquie"; small split to the head of the spine, corners slightly bumped, lacking ties, generally nicely preserved, 19 1/4 x 13 in.

The French assaulted the city of Prague in the wee hours of November 26, 1741, successfully taking control as part of the War of Austrian Succession. This messy series of skirmishes throughout Europe lasted from late 1740 until October of 1748. Campaigns covered by the present manuscript reflect the focus on Bohemia and Moravia in the early 1740s.
