This refers to the exhibition, "The Drawings of Charles E. Burchfield," Cleveland Museum of Art, November 4-December 31, 1953.
Nancy Weekly, Burchfield Scholar and Head of Collections and the Charles Cary Rumsey Curator at the Burchfield Penney Art Center, writes in the accompanying report, "Beginning in 1915, Burchfield drew and painted the Ohio landscape in his hometown of Salem, where he went to the art school in Cleveland, and in small towns around the northeast section of the state."
