Although this is one of the classic Art Deco French travel posters, the artist has remained virtually anonymous. The design is as stylized and elegant as the scene it portrays in which rows of trees, seen in perspective, form a large "V" that focuses the viewer's attention on the spa's casino, visible in the distance. All of the copies of this poster that have previously come to market have had the large, central "V" left empty. However, as this copy shows, the area was intended to be filled with travel information, in this instance in German, on the dates of the season and possible train connections. Hillion p. 104.
