CLINTON, DEWITT. Two Autograph Letters Signed, as Mayor of New York City, to William James MacNeven ("Dear Sir"). The first, appointing him Professor of Midwifery in the College of Physicians and Surgeons. The second, discussing a military commission. Each 1 page, 4to; folds affecting signatures, tipped to a larger sheet, the second with numerous expert repairs on verso. Each with a front panel clipped from the original envelope and tipped to larger sheet, addressed in his hand. Albany, 21 March 1808; 7 March 1810
