Additional Details

"Theater not long ago was the entertainment of the Prince. Our age--which has some good aspects--has made it the entertainment of the people. That's why, dear and tender rascal, our loves, my loves, we will use ourself [sic] with all our heart to entertain you better, by 'representing' for you 'The Innumerable' this evening, exceptionally, on the favored stage of the Palais Royal. May each of us: you, the public[, and] we, mountebanks, contribute his modest and so necessary and so indispensable talent."
