The U.S. European Command (EUCOM) is one of the eleven unified combatant commands of the United States military, headquartered in Stuttgart, Germany. The organization deploys forces to support humanitarian operations, natural disaster relief efforts and peacekeeping groups. Post Exchanges were service stations that sold food, drinks and merchandise to soldiers; during World War II, thousands of post exchanges operated throughout the world. In the 1950s the Exchange in Europe became known as the EUCOM - EXCHANGE - SYSTEM, as advertised in this poster to English-speakers living in Germany.
