JIMI HENDRIX / OPEN AIR LOVE + PEACE / INSEL FEHMARN GERMANY. 1970.

32¼x11¼ inches, 82x28½ cm. Claudius Kraft Druckerei, Rendsburg.
Condition A. Paper.

This poster advertised the music festival where Hendrix would make his final performance and last scheduled appearance. He died just 2 weeks later, on September 18, 1970. About 25,000 visitors to the Baltic Sea island of Fehmarn attended this event. The poster names other well-known acts such as Joan Baez, Sly and the Family Stone, Emerson Lake & Palmer, Rod Stewart, and many more.

Four versions of this poster were printed: a small black & white, a small color, a large black & white and a large color (16¼x46"). This poster is the smaller color format. They were all printed way before the weekend for purposes of advertising the event, but also as merch pieces to be sold during the festival. This version says "Poster DM 1.-" at the bottom, meaning its price was one Deutschmark.
