Junipero Serra was a Franciscan priest who founded nine of the earliest missions in California. To celebrate the 150th anniversary of his death a pageant was held in Carmel, the location of one of his missions and the location where he died and is buried. It was a five-day celebration with historic recreations, parades, music and more.
