Condition B: tears, tape-repaired tears, creases, abrasions and staining at edges; loss in lower right corner; tape staining along tear at right image; small pin holes in corners. Paper.

Born in Massachusetts, Shepler graduated from Williams College and taught painting in and around Boston. He was a Navy combat artist during World War II, from 1942 to 1946. Shepler was an avid sailor and skier; he is well-known for his watercolor ski scenes of New Hampshire.
