E. PAUL VILLEFROY (DATES UNKNOWN) MAISON BRESILIENNE. 1900.
31 1/2x23 1/8 inches, 80x59 cm. E. Acker, Paris.
Condition A-: creases in image; horizontal fold.
Although Villefroy designed a small number of posters, nothing is known about his life or his studies. This delightful genre scene advertises an importer of Brazilian coffee. A true emporium, located in Les Halles, here one could sample different coffees as well as purchase them. A stylish Parisian lady, with one of the importer's catalogues in her hand, is being served coffee by an impeccably attired servant.
