Additional Details
Edward Wallowitch, who frequently photographed Andy Warhol, is purported to have been Warhol's lover for a brief period in the late 1950s and early 1960s. A number of Wallowitch's photographs were used as source material for Warhol's silkscreens and paintings. Most notably, Wallowitch photographed the still life later transformed into the iconic 1962 painting "Big Campbell's Soup Can with Can Opener (Vegetable)," which initiated Warhol's repeated use of the soup can motif.
