Paperback cover illustration for an unknown Avon Books publication, circa 1959. Oil on board. 466x358 mm; 18⅜x14 inches. Signed in lower right image. Includes inscription in lower right margin, "Avon Books (Hearst Publ.)." Includes "Hearst Publications" stamp on verso.

In the 1950s, Kinstler sold freelance cover paintings to paperback book publishers including Avon Books. Avon was acquired by Hearst Publications in 1959, indicating that this cover was produced around that time.
