Caddell (1921 - 2013) was known for landscape and portrait painting in addition to his illustration work. Author of several instructional books, he also ran a large and popular art school in southeastern Connecticut. This charming illustration by Caddell features his characteristic mastery of light which falls over an enthralled crowd from a carnival Ferris wheel on a summer's evening.
