[Hagenau: Impensis Koberorum Norinbergensium, in off. Thomae Anshelmi, 1520.]

First edition, folio, title page printed within large woodcut compartment; divisional title for Opuscula Maxentii Iohannis Servi Dei Theologi Antiqui within a different architectural woodcut compartment with putti and a bear; large historiated woodcut initials, final leaf (F6) with bottom half trimmed away, with the loss of the colophon and printer's mark; several contemporary or near-contemporary inscriptions to title and front pastedown, extensive marginalia; bound in contemporary half tanned sheepskin over wooden boards, tooled in blind, catches present, lacking clasps, joints cracked but boards attached, some worming, unsophisticated, 11 3/4 x 8 in.

The work is that of two 6th-century Christian authors. The editor is German humanist Willibald Pirckheimer (1470-1530). The work is dedicated to the author's sister Caritas Pirckheimer (1467-1532), Abbess of Saint Clara's in Nuremberg. The main and divisional title page compartment borders are both attributed to Hans Baldung Grien (1484-1545).
