Nothing is known about Aurrens, but he has left behind a little gem of graphic design. To advertise an illustrated newspaper he cleverly incorporates two simple symbols of writing and imagery by presenting an attractive woman with a quill behind her ear and a camera in her hands. Furthermore, he has cleverly turned the woman into an allegory for the periodical by decorating her dress with all sorts of illustrations to be found in its pages. Rare.
