Although photography exhibitions were held as early as the 1890s, it wasn't until the Bauhaus generation that the posters advertising these events actually depicted photographs or photographic elements. Generally, as seen here, the earlier posters featured people with cameras, or as in this case, the cameras themselves. The construction, colors and shapes of this bold geometric vision echo the Agfa logo, with its red diamond. Nine years after this exhibition, Stuttgart was host to the seminal International Film and Foto Exhibition.
