Beverly, 2 August 1912

Additional Details

"Before you bought the land in rear of my barn I had had communication through Mrs. Davis . . . and had understood that she . . . would give me a chance to buy a small corner indicated on the sketch herewith. I copy it from a survey that I had made for this purpose. I should like to own it as security against some other structure too near my barn. I should much prefer the larger area indicated, but should feel relieved if I owned even the smaller one. I write to ask if you would be willing to sell me the piece. I haven't the faintest idea of the proper price but if you are willing to part with it I have no doubt that we could agree on that without trouble."
