Illuminated liturgical manuscript in Dutch, written in gothic script in black ink with rubrics and initial strokes in red, 21 lines, recto and verso, on vellum. with forty-three pages with maiblumen initials of two to eight lines with elaborate marginal extensions in red, green, and blue, including eight large divisional initials with full-page borders of highly intricate penwork; one- and two-line initials in red and blue throughout. 186 leaves, complete. 160x109 mm, contemporary blind-tooled calf over wooden boards with brass catches, lacking clasps, rebacked, circular paper label on spine, joints rubbed, cover corners worn through; contents generally clean and bright, with only occasional minor wrinkling of vellum and slight smudge in lower portion of border at beginning of Hours of the Virgin Bookplate of J.
