Additional Details

"As I do not propose settling in Town for the Winter till towards the middle of the next month, that Lady Howe may have the benefit of the country air and such little exercise as she is able to take in her present situation, I do not know how to plan an opportunity of seeing you . . . better . . . than by calling upon you at your Lodgings in my weekly attendance on my City business. In this view, I intend inquiring for you there on friday, about 11 o'clock. I shall be the rest of the morning & till 2, at the Pay-office of the Navy, in Broad-street. . . . [I]f . . . you have no leisure from your business to let me see you in Broad-street . . . send me a Line to say what other morning you shall be at leisure, at any stated hour; and I will not fail to meet you according to your appointment. . . . When we have once crossed upon each other, a moments conversation will enable us to fix a proper time & place when we may go into our Nottingham matters at large."
