Drypoint on antique cream laid paper, 1873-78. 191x100 mm; 7 1/2x4 inches, full margins. One of approximately only 20-25 impressions (MacDonald cites only 18 known impressions). A very good impression of this extremely scarce print.
We have found only one other impression at auction in the past 30 years.
According to MacDonald, "There was probably a print-run of about 20 to 24 impressions. Although it was published with the set of "Cancelled Plates" by the Fine Art Society, London, in 1879 it does not appear to be cancelled." Kennedy 129; Glasgow 115.
