It includes a brief introduction by art dealer Julien Levy and a longer commentary by novelist Glenway Wescott: "He will go on painting his chosen creatures, like these--mythological-looking immature proletariat: handsome, as the native work and play and climate have made them; vain and graceful and dressy as they are in fact."
