JEAN CARLU (1900-1997) AMERICA'S ANSWER! / PRODUCTION. 1941.
29 3/4x39 3/4 inches, 75 1/2x101 cm. U.S. Government Printing Office, Washington, D.C.
Condition A-: minor creases and abrasions at edges; light stain in lower right corner. Paper.
Designed and issued six months before the bombing of Pearl Harbor in 1941, the U.S. government reissued this poster on a larger scale the following year, when the war machine was heavily reliant on the mighty output from American factories. Here, power, technology and strength are combined in a modern, mechanical style. Aside from the date, the only difference between the 1941 printing and the 1942 printing appears to be that the latter was folded for distribution.
