His strong Cubist influence is again on full display in his use of color and design, Carlu promotes a virtually unknown comedienne using the image of the two theatre masks (comedy and tragedy) and the performer's profile. It is one of Carlu's most charming posters from this period as well as the only one to feature a woman. Much more common in its smaller format, which was actually a color plate from issue 8 of Arts et Metiers Graphiques (see lot 29), this larger format is virtually unknown. Carlu 14.
