"High-flying athleticism couples with sunny optimism in this Joe Leibow promotion for the U.S. Eastern Ski Championships at New Hampshire's Belknap Mountain ski area. Leibow cleverly plays with the perspective, giving us an over-the-shoulder shot of a ski jumper whose diminutive size turns the female spectator's sweater into the snow-covered terrain over which he soars. The 1937 Belknap championships marked the debut of the venue's sixty-meter jump, which had been completed a few weeks before. . . copies of Leibow's poster could be purchased from the Eastern Ski Championships office in nearby Laconia for one dollar - ten cents less than admission to the competition" (Crouse p. 120).
