Two extensive catalogue raisonné of Cheret's posters exist (Ernst Maindron and Lucy Broido), albeit separated by almost a century. Far less is known about Cheret's prolific work in the field of book and magazine cover design. Most of these works are original lithographs, and Cheret personally oversaw the printing. Much the same as his posters, there are no references in any of the catalogues on Cheret's oeuvre. These two examples show how impressive his work in this field really was; the designs are basically miniature posters!
