Hindenlang studied at the school of Arts & Crafts in his native Basel. He primarily painted frescoes in a style that was highly influenced by cubism, and he only designed a small handful of posters. Here, to advertise a museum show on commercial lighting (in advertising and shop windows), Hindenlang creates a geometric, constructivist street scene, complete with stylized neon signs, into which he worked excellent typography.
