With pastoral landscapes, dramatic waterfalls, farming in the Mohawk valley, architectural views of colonial-era homes, a humorous scene of a wrecked Model T and an interior at Ft. Johnson. Platinum prints, 6 1/2x4 1/2 inches (16.5x11.4 cm.), and slightly smaller, with Maney's signature and date, in ink, on recto and captioned, in a calligraphic handwriting, on mount recto; in the original box. 1902-1912

Additional Details

Maney, a military historian and writer, who authored The Story of Old Ft. Johnson (1909) and Lake George and Lake Champlain: The War Trail of the Mohawk (1910), was a talented photographer whose work recalls the poetic images of the Photo-Secessionist William Post.
