Movieland '54. Lithograph, 131/4x203/4 inches oblong. Signed by Hirschfeld and numbered 43/250 in pencil, lower margin. 1984. "Patience is what is required for a complicated drawing like this. It's the research and the correlating of all the material that's the hard work. Doing the drawing itself wasn't difficult, but figuring out how to get everybody on there was an interesting project. It's actually a mural, of American movie stars, that I did for Fifth Avenue Cinema. HOL/121. Visible, among many others, are Bette Davis, Clark Gable, Groucho, Harpo and Zeppo Marx, Mae West, Fred Astaire, Katharine Hepburn, Oscar Levant, Buster Keaton, and Milton Berle.
