"This Object Poster for Basel's Petitjean supply house and its selection of Clus Ironworks transmission parts carries an educational benefit: although most people might not have been able to identify transmission parts prior to viewing this poster, Stoecklin's unembellished artwork gives them a bit of knowledge. The Clus (or Klus) Ironworks was located in the north-central Swiss municipality of Balsthal. It manufactured not only transmissions for mills and railways but also an array of products for the military" (Crouse p. 98).
