Hand-inked and painted animation cel and drawing for the Barney Google and Snuffy Smith TV series, episode "A Hoss Kin Dream," 1961.

Cel with matching animator's key drawing of the lovable race horse Spark Plug. In the matching scene, Spark Plug, who is plagued by sleepwalking, dances in his sleep. Notably, this was a "held cel," which was photographed and cycled many times from 4 min 40 sec to 4 min 49 sec in the episode.

Additional Details

The animation for the series was produced at New York City-based Paramount Studios, the direct successor to Famous Studios, which itself had evolved from Fleischer Studios; all three studios employed many of the same artists, including Myron Waldman, Seymour Kneitel, Isadore Sparber, and Jim Tyer, and and for most of their existence, each iteration operated out of 1600 Broadway in Times Square.
