Boullier did work for various French Railway companies in the early years of the twentieth century, including the Chemins de Fer de l'Ouest, Chemin de Fer du Nord and Chemin de Fer de Paris, Lyon, Méditerranée. His work was more painterly than many of the artists who followed in his footsteps in the 1920s and 30s.
