The New Haven operated freight and passenger trains over a Boston - New York City main line and a number of branch lines" (www.nhrta.org). "Maurer's finished design communicated the ideas of modernity and vacation fun in one remarkable image. It is one of the few American poster designs to effectively integrate the appeal of technology and destination" (Zega, p. 114). Sascha Maurer did a lot of poster work for both the Pennsylvania Railroad and the New Haven Railroad. Rare. We could find only two other copies at auction in the last 20 years. Zega cover and p. 116.
