Additional Details

a most unusual document, wherein a group of slaves, representing all of the slaves on the John H. Harris Plantation, are bringing their case against Harris, apparently for starving and abusing them: "John Harris being the Master, or Other person occupying that relation to William, Peta, Daniel, John, Joe, Elizabeth, Sallie, Jane, Lucie, and other negro slaves on said John H. Harris plantation in said County called "The Egypt Place" failed to provide them with a sufficiency of healthy food and treated them with inhumanity."
