STEPHEN BOSUSTOW PRODUCTIONS
Stuart Little and his Father Cel and Background Setup.

Animation key master cel setup for the filmstrip adaptation of E.B. White's classic novel Stuart Little, 1976. 2 hand-inked line art cels over a watercolor background. 276x316 mm; 10½x12½ inches. Bears a silver-toned ASIFA seal, indicating that it was originally sold at one of the organization's legendary charity auctions.

According to trade publications of the time, the Stuart Little filmstrip was divided into 12 parts and created with over 700 drawings (miniscule compared to a fully animated film). Because the story was told in a narrated series of still images, this cel setup has more in common with an illustration than a typical animation cel. Bosustow Productions had previously been entrusted to adapt other beloved children's books, including White's Charlotte's Web, and The Giving Tree by Shel Silverstein, both of which were narrated by the authors.
