Four parts bound in two octavo volumes; engraved frontispiece portrait of Gulliver with inscription around the oval and Latin inscription on tablet below printed on laid paper with vertical chainlines and bound opposite title of first part; illustrated with six full-page plates (of which five are maps); in this edition part I, page 17, line 22 has 'Potion'; title page variant in volume II without the edition statement, but with "Vol. II."; very nicely bound in full uniform contemporary English paneled sheep with speckled boards and blind tooling; expertly rebacked with gilt-tooled spines in 18th century style; water staining to contents of first volume; 7 1/2 x 4 3/4 in.
