TOM HALL HUNT BIG GAME IN CANADA. Circa 1938.
36x241/4 inches.
Condition B+: minor restoration in margins; slight abrasions in image. Silkscreen.
An Englishman who was trained in New York at the Art Student's League, Hall moved to Canada in 1907. He was a commercial graphic designer who worked for several firms including Canadian Pacific. "His main area of expertise was painting wildlife. . . his 1941 duck hunting poster . . . became a favorite, but it was his 1938 grizzly poster that won him the Transit Advertisers' award for the finest poster in the travel division" (Canadian Pacific p. 71-2). This is another image in the series, and one of several Canadian Pacific posters that present Moose for hunters' pleasure.
