Gitsevich began designing posters for Izogiz in 1931, sometimes in collaboration with Viktor Koretsky. DOSAV was the Voluntary Society of Assistance to the Air Force and was created in 1948; it merged with the Army and Navy voluntary forces in 1951 to create DOSAAF.
