VIKTOR MUNDORFF (1897-1973)

21 WELTREKORDE / AUTO UNION - DKW. Circa 1938.

37¼x22¼ inches, 94½x56½ cm.
Condition B+: small replaced losses, overpainting and restoration at edges; minor creases and abrasions in image.

Auto-Union, founded in 1932, was the precursor to the modern Audi brand; the rings of their logo represent the four companies that merged in order to form Auto-Union. Those original merged companies were Audi, DKW, Horch and Wanderer. Boasting the 21 world records by the company, the poster also name-drops two famous German DKW motorcyclists, Ewald Kluge and Walfried Winkler, who picked up 15 of those records in that season.
