Hand-inked and painted animation cel for the Mickey Mouse Club educational film, You: The Human Animal 1955. 324x382 mm; 12¾x15 inches (framed). This cel was originally sold at the Art Corner store in Disneyland, and bears the gold COA sticker au verso. Given the date of the production, the piece was likely purchased in the early days of the park's existence. Excellent condition.
The short originally aired on the Mickey Mouse Club and was later distributed to schools. This is an especially nice example of a 1950s Jiminy production cel, showing the character's full figure, with both eyes open and smiling.
The matching frame appears 2 min 43 sec into the film (via the school film release) when Jiminy extols the praises of reading: "You know how I know these things? I get them out of books. You can find anything you want to know from books. If you learn one thing a day for a year, that's 365 new things. Just think how many things you would know in five years. Let's see now…" After which he picks up his pencil and notepad to do the math, and this frame appears.
